Recommendation: Klara Kristalova, “Sounds of Dogs and Youth” By Time Out staff
For her New York gallery debut, the Czech artist presents sculptural figurines, created in both bronze and ceramic. Though borderline whimsical, the works—which seem to focus on female heads—have a disturbingly surreal quality, as if they’d been plucked from the artist’s troubled dreams. Special lighting and secondhand furniture from local flea markets complete the effect.
