Gilbert and George Do New York

Get excited- Gilbert and George are back in the city.
Making their first appearance since 2004, the English art duo is getting ready to take over a slew of New York galleries with their collection LONDON PICTURES.
The series contains 292 images compiled from over 4000 newspaper posters, displaying modern urban life in the raw and holding nothing back.
But don’t think the exhibit is just a bunch of pasted up news clippings; rather, the sets of abstract art use haunting real life situations with twosome whitewashed in the backgrounds as sinister-looking ghosts.
You can catch a glimpse of some LONDON PICTURES from April 26-June 23 at Lehmann Maupin and Sonnabend galleries.
