The South African-born artist Robin Rhode has joined the Lehmann Maupin Gallery in Chelsea. The gallery’s booth at the New York edition of the Frieze Art Fair next month will display a work of his that depicts a South African Brewing Company beer crate with hand-blown, elongated beer bottles placed inside. “His work is all about identity and his place in the global world,” said David Maupin, one of the gallery’s founders.
