Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce that Shlomi Rabi is joining the gallery as Sales Director and will be based in New York.
Rabi comes to Lehmann Maupin with over 25 years of experience in sales, business development, and team management in the art world. From 2021–2024, he served as the Global Head of Auction Sales at Artsy. During this time, he identified, targeted, and stewarded top collectors, resulting in many successful transactions. At Artsy, he also designed and executed a comprehensive 2-year strategy that leveraged internal resources and optimized the company’s digital infrastructure, introducing novel selling channels and streamlining the client journey.
Before his time at Artsy, Rabi held several senior sales positions at auction houses, including overseeing Christie’s Photographs department in the Americas. He also worked at Phillips as the Head of Sales in the Photographs department. Additionally, during the pandemic Rabi founded Greenhouse Auctions—the first social impact auction platform directly supporting and promoting artists and galleries—which was later acquired by Artsy.
In his new role as Sales Director at Lehmann Maupin, Rabi will leverage his former experience and network as an auction house specialist and industry leader to drive sales and expand the gallery’s collector base, including cultivating younger collectors. Additionally, he will expand the gallery’s digital capabilities and enhance collector-centric programming.
“Over the past 28 years, Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin have built one of the most distinct, elevated, and celebrated commercial art galleries in the world,” says Shlomi Rabi. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join such a storied gallery and leverage my background to support its growth and its artists.”
“Shlomi has a very impressive track record of achieving results and driving growth across multiple businesses in the art world,” says Rachel Lehmann. “We’re excited that he’s joining our sales team in New York and look forward to seeing what kind of impact he makes at the gallery.”
