Lehmann Maupin (Booth J9) is pleased to announce its participation in Art Basel, Switzerland, from June 19-22, 2014, with a presentation of new artworks by Kader Attia, Ashley Bickerton, Billy Childish, Tracey Emin, Teresita Fernández, Shirazeh Houshiary, Klara Kristalova, Liu Wei, OSGEMEOS, Angel Otero, Alex Prager, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., Do Ho Suh, Mickalene Thomas, and Adriana Varejão.
Alex Prager will also be featured in this year’s Unlimited program (Booth U25), curated by Gianni Jetzer, opening June 16, 2014. Prager’s vibrant film, Face in the Crowd, which debuted at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., in 2013, before being shown in the artist’s first exhibition with Lehmann Maupin in January 2014, explores the complicated and at times contradictory emotions associated with crowds. Prager’s film examines the unspoken interpersonal connections among individuals in society, poignantly pairing the frenzy of a crowd with a series of confessional monologues.
A major group show at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. will include Prager’s work, opening June 6, 2014. Additionally, Prager will be featured in a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne in November 2014.
